  • Defender Game was launched in 1980 by Williams Electronics and is essentially an arcade video game. Defender Game, as the name almost implies is a shooting game and has 2 dimensional graphics. The game is played on a non-existent planet wherein which the player must protect astronauts and defeat the waves sent by aliens invading this fictional planet. Eugene Jarvis developed this game who is a pinball programmer. This game was in fact his first project of video games. Asteroids and Space Invaders were his inspiration.
